The Hirsel warmly welcome guests to enjoy the Hirsel. While a formal charge isn't applied, you'll find honesty boxes at the Homestead and in Dundock Wood for those who wish to contribute towards the upkeep of the walks, policies, and the Homestead museum.

Getting to the Hirsel Estate

From Coldstream Holiday Park you can walk into the Hirsel Estate through a forest path which begins at the west side of the wooded area opposite the holiday park entrance. Alternatively you can drive to the Homstead where parking is available for a modest fee of £2.50 per car which grants you access to the estate's remarkable facilities and helps support the upkeep of the scenic walks around the shimmering lake and through the ancient Dundock Wood.

The Homstead Farm Shop & Cafe

Nestled in the heart of the estate, the Homestead Cafe and Farm Shop, run by the friendly Ann and her team, is the perfect spot to pause and indulge. Treat yourself to delectable homemade cakes and scones, savor a light and nutritious lunch, and choose from a wide selection of teas, coffees, and refreshing drinks.

The Highland Cattle

The Hirsel Estate is home to a beautiful fold (that's the collective name for Highland cattle) of Highland cows. Their shaggy coats, impressive horns, and gentle demeanour make them a firm favourite with visitors of all ages. You'll find them grazing peacefully in the estate's fields, adding a touch of quintessential Scottish charm to the landscape.
