In a series of Blog Posts we have asked a range of our Owners what drew them to buying a static caravan with us at Coldstream Holiday Park. First we spoke to Sarah and Leanne who joined us late April 2023, they bought the Willerby Castleton on one of the newly developed Phase 2 pitches. In addition to using the holiday home for themselves they also offer self catering holidays through our holiday agency agreement. As avid pet lovers they have focused the Castleton on being the perfect getaway for other pet owners.

We first found out about Coldstream Holiday Park through Sarah’s brother who has seen it being developed over the last few years when travelling with work. They booked a pod in March for a few nights and we joined them in our touring caravan for Leanne’s birthday bringing our new 10 week old Labrador puppy with us.
We bought our first 2 berth touring caravan in 2020 and upgraded to a bigger 4 berth in January 2023 to give us more space and a fixed bed. More for our 2 dogs than us. We visited some lovely locations and parks during that time. We have never owned a static holiday home until now.
Coldstream Holiday Park was the first location where we could see ourselves coming back time after time. The staff were welcoming and happy to assist with our enquiries; the ethos of the park contributing to the regeneration of Coldstream, aligned with our values; the park was just finishing phase 2 of development but once complete will still be a small personable park; and it is within a good travel distance from home allowing us to enjoy a holiday without having to travel too far.
We never set out to buy a holiday home when we visited Coldstream Holiday Park for the first time, but after exploring the park, talking to the staff and viewing available static caravan for sale, we knew this was the place for us. We looked at a number of vans but then found the Castleton which gave us everything we could possibly want. The icing on the cake was the entrance hall to allow us to dry the dogs down after a walk, and the full size bathroom with bath for relaxation after exploring the local area.
The purchase process was easy. Once we had chosen our van, we were in the lucky position where we could choose our plot as nothing has been sited yet. We agreed a trade in price for our touring van and paid our deposit. Within 2 weeks we had the van sited and setup with mains water, sewage, gas and electric. We completed the inspection and paid the balance.
Next was deciding on our decking. We got a number of quotations for different styles, agreed and paid for the order. Delivery took a couple of weeks and installation was completed by a local joiner a couple of weeks later.
The park is situated next to the River Tweed, so we love taking the dogs for a nice walk and swim. We are enjoying exploring the area and discovering new walks such as Twizzle Bridge and Bowmont Forest. We also enjoy the peace and quiet.
It’s rural setting but with everything you could ever need within a short walk into Coldstream.
We purchased as a retirement investment that we can also utilise ourselves. The rental process is very easy, Our van is featured on the park website and available for booking online or by contacting reception. The park manages the rental process for us ensuring that the van is cleaned and bedding changed between every rental.
