Cycle at your pace on the quiet Berwickshire roads, or seek an adrenaline rush on Innerleithens Red Bull mountain bike down-hill. Or if losing yourself is hoping for the ‘rub of the green‘ at Coldstream bowling club, there is always a game on.

The Tweed is one of the greatest Atlantic salmon rivers, with opportunities to fish on some of the legendary beats and pools around Coldstream via the Tweedbeats and Fishtweed websites (for salmon) and the Coldstream & District Angling Association (for trout).

Lennel Tennis Club is located in the Scottish Borders town of Coldstream. It has three all weather courts set within private grounds, junior and adult coaching, tennis leagues, social events and much more. All players are welcome.

Formed over 118 years ago, Coldstream Football Club is one of the oldest football clubs in Scotland, creating a prestigious history of which it can be proud. Founded in 1650 it’s the oldest regiment in continuous existence in the British Army, and the fascinating story of this world-renowned regiment is ‘second to none‘ in the town's Guards museum.

Scotland‘s national bard visited Coldstream in 1787. He crossed the Coldstream bridge and with his first step onto English soil he knelt and prayed for the blessing of his native Scotland "O Scotia! My dear, my native soil! For whom my warmest wish to heaven is sent! Long may thy hardy sons of rustic toil be blest with health, and peace, and sweet content." The moment is commemorated with a plaque on the bridge and an interpretation board near Marjoribanks monument.
Robert Burns work is celebrated worldwide, especially for Burns Night which falls on the 25th of January each year. A night to celebrate contribution to Scottish Culture. No Burns night is complete without some haggis and a wee dram of whisky.

Floors castle in Kelso stands proudly on the banks of the river Tweed and is the seat of the Duke of Roxburghe. The elegant estate house was built in the 1720s by the architect William Adam. Further embellishment was carried out in the 19th century with turrets and battlements designed by William Playfair, for the 6th Duke of Roxburghe. Floors is the largest inhabited house in Scotland.
In 1903 the castle underwent another transformation following the 8th Duke’s wedding to American heiress Mary Goelet. She brought with her a treasure trove of artwork, furniture, tapestries and porcelain. These treasure added a real sense of grandeur to the many state rooms of the castle, much of which may still be admired today.
There are beautiful gardens to discover, walks and cycle trails. The Apple Shed gift shop and deli is a must visit if you are looking for gifts or mementos. The Terrace café offers a delicious menu using local produce and seasonal delights.

August brings the Border Commons Ridings and Festival to the area. Coldstream adds its own calendar to the festival with four ride-outs, culminating in spectacular scenes of 300 riders leaving the town and crossing the bridge to Flodden Field.
Along with a torchlight procession and sashing and unsashing ceremony the Border Common Ridings and Festival should not be missed.
